cave grave in tana toraja
in tana toraja, everything revolves around death. the graves can be very sophisticated yet sometimes, long after the coffins are destroyed by time, people gently place bones along natural cave "racks". often, the bones are offered cigarettes or various offerings. this is supposed to prevent dead ancestors from bringing bad luck and otherwise making the lives of the living miserable.

a kind man in a colorful mosque with many clocks. this man saw me looking at the mosque and even though he did not speak any english (or french..) invited me inside. he then proceeded to show me around every room and later took me accross the old town to another mosque with interesting tiles decorated with mount fuji. why or how they used mount fuji, i have no idea..

Turbot and Rainbow
The tugboat "Turbot" at Nassau Harbor. Loved the multi-colored lines on the bow. Caught that rainbow in this photo too.

The Atlantis Resort, Bahamas
This was shot from the underwater tunnel looking up from to the resort...which was apprapo for the "Atlantis" theme. The weird thing was that there were no decent postcards for sale here. So I walked around and made my own...

Twin tiger sharks, Bahamas
Two tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) in the Bahamas, November 2007.
The conditions for a few hours were the best I had ever seen: at least 12 tiger sharks (including Emma, Baby Cakes, Tanya, Mini-T, and Begonia), and a few dozen lemon sharks in clear water, with clear skies overhead!

bahamas relaxation
This picture was taken during a very relaxing sailing vacation in the bahamas. Location is somewhere on a small private island north-west of nassau (Chub Cay). The position on the map is pretty accurate. The perfect place doing nothing.
The picture was taken with a quite old analog pocket camera. I had the negative scanned and de-noised (neat image). No additional changes or manipulations.
